Stroke Rehabilitation

St. Anthony’s, St. Catherine’s, and St. Catherine’s West Rehabilitation Hospitals provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient programs for those suffering from a stroke. A catastrophic injury such as stroke often leaves individuals with impairments; however, using specialized evidence-based medical rehabilitation interventions, most patients regain lost function and learn or improve skills that can compensate for lost abilities. Our staff is committed to the improvement of each patient, which is why our history of positive outcomes has greatly exceeded national averages for years.

The Stroke Rehabilitation Teams at St. Anthony’s, St. Catherine’s and St. Catherine’s West Hospitals work with one important goal in mind: to design individualized interdisciplinary programs that help each patient achieve a maximum level of functional independence in order to return home and resume their daily lives. Our rehabilitation hospitals are state-of-the-art medical facilities designed for patients who are medically stable and can benefit from intensive interdisciplinary rehabilitation in a hospital setting. We feature modern equipment and biomedically advanced devices such as Bioness™, Biodex™, and on-site aquatic centers.

The success of rehabilitation depends on the expertise of specialized health care professionals, dedicated to your continued improvement, and who coordinate a customized rehabilitation program specifically for you. We are proud to have specialty-trained physicians, therapists, and nurses. This interdisciplinary team consisting of a physician, rehab nurse, occupational therapist, physical therapist, speech-language pathologist, psychologists, neuropsychologist, case manager, and dietician are available to address a multitude of special needs that impact patients and their loved ones after a stroke. The team will meet with you regularly to discuss your progress, update the rehabilitation plan, prepare for your discharge home and make recommendations and referrals for any continued services that may be necessary.

We are dedicated to providing you with the best possible outcome after a stroke. Our treatments will be based on current scientific evidence in the rehabilitation fields involved in your care. Our specially trained therapists, nurses, and physicians will ensure your recovery is maximized, and your return home is seamless.
