St. Joseph Manor in Pompano Beach Breaks Ground

(April 25, 2014, Lauderdale Lakes, FL)  On April 25, 2014 ground breaking was held for the newest  HUD-subsidized community for Catholic Housing Management and the Archdiocese of Miami in Pompano Beach.  With a grant of over $9 million for a 62 unit complex (first phase), the new property will be the 16th community for Catholic Housing Management, which currently operates 5 complexes in Broward and ten in Miami-Dade for active, independent seniors with limited financial resources.
All communities are located adjacent to Catholic parishes and many have received scores of “Superior” in HUD’s management and occupancy review.  St. Joseph Manor is situated near the St. Joseph Haitian Mission on St. Elizabeth of Hungary parish. The architects on the project are Chisholm Architects and builders are Beauchamp Construction.  The 62 unit apartment building was designed to include all the appropriate conveniences and amenities typiccompletion is expected in the Spring of 2015. “We are hopeful that the federal funding that makes these projects possible and helps us provide these services to the communities that can benefit the most, will continue into the future,” said Juana Mejia, director of Elderly Housing Services, Catholic Housing Management.
