Eating Green for St. Patrick’s Day

For St. Patrick’s Day, everyone is always ready to get in the spirit with all things green. Green clothing, green hairspray/face paint, green beer, and I have even seen green bagels with green spread in my lifetime.

While treats like Shamrock Shakes are always fun for the holiday, there are certainly healthier ways to indulge the need to join in the celebration without totally falling off the wagon if you are working to maintain a healthy lifestyle.

You likely know where I’m going with this – yes, vegetables (and even some fruits)! A couple of festive green cookies here and there won’t make or break you or your kids, but balance is key and there are some foods you can incorporate into the day that will feel fun and spirited even if your kids typically might not be crazy about them. Today is your excuse to push the greens!
