It’s been an action-packed week of service as we partnered with the community and The Pantry of Broward to provide, Thanksgiving food items for over 600 lower-income seniors and their families!
For the past ten days, we collected food items throughout our 32 facilities.
On Tuesday, local radio personality, Jade Alexander of 102.7 The Beach and her team joined us for the day as we stopped at different campuses filling up the Mayflower Truck with all of the donated food from each of our facilities.
We began at the CHS Corporate Office, moving to St. Catherine’s West Rehabilitation Hospital then Villa Maria Nursing Center before ending the day at The Pantry of Broward!
On Wednesday, our CHS employee volunteers unloaded, sorted and stocked The Pantry shelves with the 5,800 pounds of food collected throughout our 32 facilities! We also prepared 600 Thanksgiving bags for The Pantry clients to pick up on Friday!
CHS volunteers handed out turkeys and Thanksgiving meal bags to over 600 families in the community! In addition to our distribution at The Pantry, a few of our CHS volunteers handed out Thanksgiving bags and turkeys to 23 residents of St. Boniface Gardens!
Thank you to all of our partners including, Morrison Healthcare who donated 200 turkeys for our Thanksgiving Drive!
