Rev. Fr. Ifeanyi Ethel
“I have been at St. John’s Nursing Center for almost a year and it gives me joy to wake up every morning and do what I love, my job.” Rev. Fr. Ifeanyi Ethel grew up in Nigeria and started studying for the Priesthood at the age of 9 as an alter server. At the age of 11, he joined the Junior Seminary and proceeded to the Senior Seminary after 5 years to study Philosophy and Theology. At the age of 25 he was ordained as a priest.
Before arriving to Catholic Health Services North Campus, Rev. Fr. Ifeanyi studied Criminal Justice, Healthcare Management and Psychology in New Jersey. Fr. Ifeanyi is a Board Certified Chaplain and a member of the National Association of Catholic Chaplains. Some of his daily responsibilities are visiting patients & residents, celebrating daily Mass and offering spiritual advice to employees and to people from the community.
Growing up in a big family, Rev. Fr. Ifeanyi has a close family. His sister is a nun who lives in Louisiana. One of his favorite pastimes is going home at Christmas to visit his family.
